Now that we know just how competitive the Model S P100D can be against a genuine supercar like the Huracan on the street, it’s time to see what they can really do on the drag strip.
The battle took place at Palm Beach International Raceway where the all-new Model S P100D Ludicrous lined up against the Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 for a 1/4 mile drag race that everyone knew was going to come down to the wire.
Without straight up telling you which one won, we can share the fact that this was a near photo finish and that both cars ran the 1/4 mile in the 10.8 range, which is an absolutely marvelous achievement for the P100D seen as how it hadn’t managed to stay ahead of the Huracan for too long when they previously met last week.
The owner of the P100D however stated that the Tesla’s best run “was done at just 82% state of charge and we believe we’ll do better next time out at 90% and above.”
We’ve also found a clip of the same P100D taking on a slightly modified Nissan GT-R at PBIR. The Nissan had a little bit more power and torque thanks to a custom tune, but again, the result was a genuine photo finish.
