Between the new Audi S5 Coupe and the Mercedes-AMG C43 Coupe, which one do you reckon is most likely to beat the more powerful Camaro SS in a 1/4 mile sprint?

While the answer to that question might not be as obvious as one would think, make no mistake about it, this is still a very close/competitive race.

So then, is it safe to assume the Camaro SS is the favorite here? On paper, yes it is. The Chevy features a massive 6.2-liter V8 engine, capable of putting down no fewer than 455 HP and 455 lb-ft (616 Nm) of torque. In US-terms, this means 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in 4 seconds flat.

In the European corner, the Mercedes C43 Coupe comes with a twin-turbo V6, boasting 362 HP (367 PS) and 383 lb-ft (520 Nm). In a straight line, it should get to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds and 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.7.

As for Audi’s brand-new S5 Coupe, rated at 354 PS (the least powerful car here), it will still hit 100 km/h just as quickly as the C 43, though some type of separation should take place afterwards since it’s also a little bit down on torque (20 less Nm) compared to the Merc.

So then which one is first to cover a 1/4 mile? You know what to do to find out.
