With the introduction of the Kodiaq, Skoda is extending its vehicle range to seven models and more than 40 variants.
Set to make its public debut next week at the 2016 Paris Auto Show, with the press conference scheduled to commence at 7:45 am CET (1:45 am EST) in Hall 4, the new Skoda Kodiaq marks “the beginning of an extensive SUV campaign“.
The brand’s strategy is to introduce more SUVs in the coming years, and besides a possible vRS version of the Kodiaq, chances are a coupe will be introduced too, along with a smaller model, one that will rival the likes of the Nissan Juke, Renault Capture, Peugeot 2008 and others in the segment.
The ageing Yeti, which is currently enjoying an increased popularity, is bound to get a replacement too, and the lineup could end with a budget SUV, aimed at China.
Besides the 11 examples of the Skoda Kodiaq, which will be on display at stand 215, in pavilion 4, the automaker is allowing visitors to gain insights into cycling, ice hockey and connectivity, while the company’s design lab, Preciosa, is showing “the various facets of the new Skoda design.“
