The 488 Spider has been with us since 2015 and you’d think the multitude of test drives and reviews covered everything there is to it, but Ferrari’s mid-engine supercar still has some interesting information to offer.
The majority of reviewers describe only how the tested vehicle looks or handles, and they rarely delve into specifics, like how the model copes with real-life situations. Sure, we know the car is powerful (the twin-turbocharged 3.9-litre V8 spoils the surprise) and we know it’s exclusive, but we’re curious to find out what owners experience beyond the glamorous facade they put on Instagram and Youtube.
It’s easy to get intimidated by a Ferrari, especially by one that has a starting price of ~$250,000, but is it that good? Well, yes, it is. Sure, the vehicle has some bits and bobs that don’t belong on such an expensive machine (thankfully, most of them are under the skin) but, for the most part, the 488 is a well-engineered and complex machine.
It can be overwhelming for the average owner, mechanically speaking, but at the same time its plethora of aerodynamic flaps and computers make it an easy car to drive. So, get ready to learn something new about the 488 GTB by clicking the video below.
