If you’re looking for a mid-size premium estate car, the Volvo V90 should be at the top of your list, according to some reviewers.
Among those V90 enthusiasts are the folks from Carbuyer who consider the V90 an excellent alternative to your current-generation Audi A6 Avant or BMW 5-Series Touring.
In this review, James Batchelor covers pretty much everything you’d want to know about the V90, with an emphasis on practicality and luggage space, which is so easy to load, that you might not even care about its rivals having slightly bigger boots.
As you might expect, there’s plenty of room for passengers in the back, as well as knee-room. Up front, the materials are great, the tech is solid and the safety features, one could argue, are best-in-class, though the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate might have something to say about that.
On the road, the BMW and the Audi remain sportier alternatives according to Batchelor, but the V90 can feel more comfortable and “understated” – which some may or may not appreciate.
Overall, the V90 is clearly a strong competitor within its segment. Watch the entire review in order to get a sense for all of its strengths and weaknesses.
