The moment we’ll be able to purchase our own personal Transformer is closer than ever, as Turkish company Letvision showed to the world a working prototype of their giant robot.
The company opted to dress their robot with a BMW E90 3-Series body which can be remotely controlled both in its car- and robot-forms.
Judging from the videos linked below, it’s safe to say that Letron, the company’s prototype is still a working progress. Featuring a really slow transformation cycle, Letron may not be as quick or exciting as the popular movie robots but it’s a start, and that’s what counts for the geeks out there.
According to the company’s official site, there are plans to launch an entire series of models but it’s too soon to tell if the market is strong enough for a real-life, full-sized Transformer toy, let alone for a whole series of it.
It will all come down to the price of course, which is still unknown at this point, but don’t expect it to be cheap.
