Even in its latest iteration, the Caddy is not one of the sexiest vehicles that Volkswagen offers, yet the German automaker is boosting the appeal of the utilitarian little van with a new variant.

Set to be revealed later this month, the Caddy Edition 35 stands apart with little touches like a gloss black roof (and matching roof rails), color-keyed exterior trim pieces and black 17-inch alloys to give it a sportier look.

The interior is enhanced by carbon-look upholstery, leather trim with contrast stitching, multifunction steering wheel, shift paddles for the DSG transmission, and black roof rails, along with a bundle of extra equipment like folding door mirrors, LED interior lighting, and upgraded infotainment system.

The Caddy Edition 35 will be available as either a panel van or in a passenger version, each with an array of 13 different powertrain combinations. It’ll be displayed at the commercial vehicles exposition in Hannover, Germany, alongside a new Caddy Edition TGI fueled by natural gas.

Pricing in Germany starts at €22,312.50 (including tax, or about $25k) for the Edition 35 panel van, €26,721.45 ($30k) for the passenger version, and €24,859.10 ($28k) for the TGI panel van.
