Remember a few months ago when Aston Martin recreated the image of a Vanquish using scraps off leather from its own workshop? Its artisans are at it again, only this time they’ve used the new DB11 as their starting point.
Rather than piece the image together out of leather scraps, this time they used pages from an Aston Martin owner’s manual. The white pages were placed on a black background to create the work of art that will be displayed in the atrium at the company’s headquarters in Gaydon, the otherwise sleepy village in the British county of Warwickshire were it not for the presence of both Aston Martin and former sister company Jaguar Land Rover, both located on the former RAF bomber base.
Aston Martin set up shop in Gaydon in 2003, gradually relocating from its historic home an hour away at Newport Pagnell. Since the last example of the old Vanquish S rolled off the old assembly line in 2007, the old factory has served principally as a hub for the company’s historic vehicles division.
