Watching an entire tractor-pulled trailer burst into a giant fireball right before your very eyes while on your way home, isn’t something anybody expects to see.

Having said that, John Coleman from Leighton Buzzard, Beds, caught the whole thing on his smartphone as he was driving through Everton on his way home from work.

Quoted by The Mirror, John said that he could “smell burning as I was traveling down the road but I couldn’t tell where it was coming from at first – it smelled like a bonfire. There were about ten cars between me and the trailer but people started to slowly overtake and get out of the way – that’s when I spotted the flames and the smell got stronger.”

The driver in the tractor pulling the trailer didn’t even notice what was happening until the person in the other tractor kept on blasting his horn trying desperately to stop the rig from moving.

“The driver was in his own little world,” John went on to say. “it was only when the tractor carried on blowing his horn and the ratchet straps burned away and the load landed in the road that he spotted it.”

Bedfordshire Fire & Rescue services needed three water jets and a hose reel in order to stop the fire, which took no fewer than two hours.
