Starting a new car company from scratch is no easy task, and many go under before they even get started. But after delivering its 100th vehicle, it looks like Zenos Cars is on the map and here to stay.
Zenos was started just a couple of years ago by Ansar Ali (who has since left for McLaren) and Mark Edwards, two engineers who previously worked together at Caterham and Lotus. Their goal was to produce a lightweight, low cost track car, and that’s just what they did with the E10 – a nimble little roadster, available in three states of tune.
Production started a year and a half ago, and as (relatively) small an operation as Zenos appears to be, it has already hit the key landmark. The 100th example is a red, top-spec, 350-horsepower E10 R. It was picked up at the factory in Norfolk by its new owners Matthew and Georgina Streeter, who traded up from their 250-hp E10 S (which is now eligible for an upgrade to 280 hp).
The base, naturally aspirated E10 produces 200 and starts at £26,995 in its home market. By now Zenos is represented in 10 markets across Europe, Asia, and North America.
