Following the introduction of the new Audi A5 family, enthusiasts are still waiting for the brand with the four rings to lift the veils off the most potent member: the RS5 Coupe.
Set to go up against the BMW M4 Coupe and Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe, it will switch from the current model’s 4.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 that’s rated at 450 HP and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque, and adopt a twin-turbo, 3.0-liter V6.
The lump will be used in the upcoming RS4 as well and it should produce close to 500 horsepower, trimming down on the 4.6 seconds needed for its predecessor to go from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph).
In order to cope with the massive output, Audi’s engineers will fiddle with the car’s chassis, which will gain an updated suspension, making the new RS5 Coupe the most dynamic of the range.
The RS-specific body kit will help set it aside from the regular A5/S5 Coupe versions, along with the large rims, while inside it should come with sportier front seats, upgraded trim and Audi’s virtual cockpit.
