Regardless of how new or beat up your car is, there are a few basic things you should always know how to check in order to keep it in proper running condition.
With that in mind, Car Throttle went and made this instructional video featuring a Ford Mustang. While the title of the clip suggests that it’s those lazier car owners that should pay the most attention, you can argue that some of these checks shouldn’t be skipped by anybody.
In short, they’re talking about Tires, Engine Oil, Brakes, Lights, Coolant and Windscreen Washer Fluid.
Be honest, when’s the last time you checked all of these without brushing off at least one or two tasks? Tires are often the most overlooked, whereas some car owners can be seen driving with defective lights on an almost daily basis in some parts of the world.
As for checking your oil level “every 2-4 weeks”, we’ll go ahead and assume not a lot of people are this thorough when it comes to their cars. However, as long as you set a reminder to check at an acceptable interval, you should still be in much better shape than those that wait for their cars to be serviced first and having someone else check for them.
Let us know which of these car maintenance tasks you perform most frequently.
