Typically, automakers (however small they may be), issue press releases to inform us about their company and products, not to advertise any sales of their staffs’ personal possessions.
Apparently, Lister, the maker of the Knobbly Stirling Moss, has a slightly different view on the subject, as it came out with a release today to communicate the auction of its CEO’s Bentley Mulsanne on eBay.
“Lister CEO Lawrence Whittaker has put his own 2012 Bentley Mulsanne up for sale on eBay. The 6.75-litre twin-turbo V8 luxury car, which cost £280,000 new, was recently listed at 99p without reserve and will be sold to the highest bidder,” reads the release.
“Whoever secures the car will be buying one of the finest luxury limousines in the world – and one that has been incredibly well cared for. Finished in Moonbeam Silver with Linen leather, the Mulsanne has always been garaged, never driven in the rain and regularly valeted. It has covered just over 26,000 miles from new and comes with full Bentley service history and a host of high-spec extras.”
In case you need a reminder, in terms of performance, with 513 PS and 1,020 Nm (752 lb-ft) on tap, the Mulsanne is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.3 seconds, which is extraordinary given its weight of 2,760 kg (6,084 lbs).
