Kia Motors America is putting the final touches on a tailor-built Soul Concept, which will be displayed at the 2016 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
Part of the company’s ambitious plan to put an autonomous vehicle on the road by 2030, the study, known as Soul First Class, is described as “an upscale inter-city chariot that lets business travelers work and relax as they journey to out-of-town meetings and destinations“.
Opening the concept’s door means that one will instantly notice the absence of a steering wheel and the rear-facing seats, in a design meant to preview what living with an autonomous car might look like, one day. The Kia Soul First Class is also benefiting from a few premium enhancements such as the 40-inch flat screen connected to high-level speakers throughout the cabin, a motorized center console with two tablets, and the usual leather trim, with diamond stitching, and gray wood flooring.
Its final design has yet to be revealed, but the automaker states that the study has a PPG Lux Blue paint, modified upper and lower grilles with LED lighting and 19-inch Rotiform Monoblock CCV wheels. Full details will be released next Tuesday, November 1, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, during the 2016 SEMA Show.
