A 45-year-old man has been arrested in Singapore after footage of him performing a reckless overtake in his Lamborghini Huracan Spyder surfaced online.
Earlier in the month, a dashcam video was posted on Facebook showing the moment the bright blue Huracan squeezed between one a and a van while traveling at high speed. Despite the left-lane of the road being completely free of traffic, the driver opted for the immensely dangerous maneuver.
Thankfully, no one was injured in the stunt, but that didn’t stop local authorities from stepping in. After investigating the video, local police were able to track down the Huracan’s owner and took him into custody on October 11, while also confiscating the Lamborghini, The Sun reports. Viral photos of the Huracan being towed away from the police station popped up on social media.
Heng See Meng, who filmed the stunt with his dashcam, said: “My family were with me in the car at the time. It was a very scary experience. I really hope all drivers respect road discipline and not bring danger to other road users.”
It’s not yet known if the driver remains in custody or what charges he could face. Nonetheless, this case once again proves the power of social media, particularly when it comes to reckless driving.
