Those of you unfamiliar with the Netflix show Black Mirror surely missed quite a special and unexpected cameo by the Land Rover Discovery Vision Concept during the final episode of Season 3.
The show often depicts near-future realities where all of our gadgets are a little bit more advanced and all of our cars are electric, with some even autonomous as was the case with the Vision Concept.
According to the episode’s script, the car (which is not mentioned by name) features software that can turn every light green on a particular route, as well as what looks like a super-fast user interface that we’d love to see implemented on real world production models.
If you’ve also noticed a few BMW models in the screen grabs, it’s because in that particular reality, British police was all about using electrified F30 3-Series models. One of the main characters even has an all-electric facelifted 1-Series 3-door hatchback – which the producers probably thought they could get away with since BMW doesn’t sell that particular model in the US.
