Mercedes-AMG GT prototypes continue to test furiously at the Nordschleife, and this latest example could be an early test bed for the eagerly-anticipated Black Series.

The company has previously confirmed that an AMG GT Black Series will see the light of day at some stage, but didn’t go into specifics. According to reports, we may see it next year in a package that promises to be even more potent than the fiery AMG GT R.

If previous Black Series models are anything to go by, the new car should adopt a plethora of custom body panels including flared wheel arches, a bold front splitter and an aggressive rear wing.

In terms of power, the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 can be expected to pump out in excess of 600 hp to make it even more capable in both a straight line and around a race track.

Interestingly, the test mule filmed looks like a relatively stock AMG GT meaning it might not actually be the Black Series. Alternatively, it could be the mid-range GT C Coupe which was recently announced to slot between the GT S and the GT R.
