BMW continues to roll out special edition bikes and the most recent one is known as the Cruise e-Bike Protonic Dark Silver.
If its name sounds familiar, you’re right, because it was inspired by the BMW i8 Protonic Dark Silver, which was unveiled in a premiere last week during the 2016 Paris Auto Show, and it comes with the same exclusive color scheme, along with Electric Blue-finished rims.
According to the Germans, the shade is not the only thing shared with the ‘green’ sports car, as the new special edition bike also features a ‘hybrid drive’, with accent placed on the 400-Wh battery, which allows the rider to pedal in four different modes, from Eco, up 50 percent, to Turbo, up 275 percent.
The two-wheeler can reach a top speed of 25 km/h (16 mph) with electrical pedal assistance, and its 10-gear system “ensures ideal transmission when riding steep slopes or doing dynamic sprints on the flat terrain“, according to the automaker’s blurb.
Developed by BMW Lifestyle and limited to just 300 units, each accompanied by a certificate and special badge, the Cruise e-Bike Protonic Dark Silver is available at selected partners and costs €3,500, which equals to $3,925 at today’s exchange rates.
