Racing in the wet can be extremely dangerous, especially with a rear-wheel drive supercar.

While the description of this video starts off by saying that the driver was lucky, he clearly had a hand in recovering the car thanks to his immediate steering input once the rear of the GT3 started drifting wide.

As far as we can tell, the nose of the 997 couldn’t have been more than a few centimeters away from the wall, which definitely forces our hand in calling this save an epic one. As soon as the car came to a halt, both the driver and the passenger looked at each other briefly, probably thankful that they made it out in one piece.

So then, what led to the 911 GT3 997 losing traction? Well, the track seems to have been way more slippery than the driver anticipated, with the rear end sliding without any warning.

Bottom line, how high does this rank on your “close call list” as far as track-related near-crashes are concerned?
