If you miss the late 2000s tuning approach, then this FabDesign Mercedes SLR McLaren should make you snap out of it.
FabDesign is a high-end tuner known for its outrageous designs, and this particular 2008 SLR McLaren Roadster stands as proof of the company’s…ehm, courage.
With a price tag of approximately $455,000 (about $511,500 in today’s money), and a 5.4-litre supercharged V8 developing 626 PS (617 hp) 780 Nm (580 lb-ft) of maximum torque, the McLaren developed Grand Tourer came as a complete package. There was nothing left to change in its development, and the fact it could keep up with any other supercar on the market was a testament to both car makers’ expertise.
Fab, on the other hand, reckoned the vehicle could do with a little bit more of everything, that’s why it came up with a tuning package for it. The result, which increased the SLR McLaren’s performance to 750 PS, and added a wide-body kit to its svelte lines, was a bold statement even by 2008’s standards. More so as the package was implemented on a small number of an already limited run vehicle, including roadster and 722 versions.
On the bright side, the add-ons make this version rarer still. This one is for sale on eBay for $479,000. So, what say you; yay or nay?
