Experience goes a long way in keeping you safe on a motorcycle, and it’s not always just about skill.

Take this beginner for example. He went off the road and into an open field for no apparent reason other than what looked like a typical case of target fixation, which is still one of the major causes of motorcycle crashes.

A good way around this issue is to always be scanning the road ahead and never let your eyes rest on any particular spot for too long, though when you’re a beginner that’s probably easier said than done.

Thankfully, this time the consequences weren’t as serious as they usually are when a rider loses control and falls off. Regardless if this was target fixation, the rider was lucky to walk away unharmed.

The bike,  on the other hand, was a little damaged, but nothing catastrophic – they were still able to get it to run, despite the missing brake lever.

Now, correct us if we’re wrong, but does the second rider (the one with the helmet cam) actually say “I f***** knew it” just as the bike is somersaulting through the air? Sheesh.
