Skoda’s Nissan Juke rival started out as a rumor, and several reports later, a couple of renderings are in.
Looking like a shrunken version of the Kodiaq, with several design elements borrowed from other Skodas like the Octavia and Superb, the vehicle is said to slot right under the Yeti, and it’s referred to as the Polar by the man behind these virtual interpretations, RemcoM.
If it gets green lit for production, the subcompact crossover will be underpinned by the MQB platform, which is already used on numerous vehicles made by the Volkswagen Group. The adoption of the new architecture will open up the possibility of numerous powertrains, but it’s too early to even speculate about the line-up.
Recent reports claim that the Skoda subcompact crossover might be developed with the Chinese market in mind, but given the increasing popularity of this segment, Europe could be on the cards, too.
