With over 30 Formula 1 races conducted at Suzuka, the Japanese Grand Prix has been at the center of many title-deciding dogfights as no fewer than 13 World Champions were crowned on location.
Among the drivers that will line up on the grid next weekend will be four-time Suzuka winner Sebastian Vettel, three-time winner Lewis Hamilton and two-time winner Fernando Alonso.
In terms of constructors, it’s actually McLaren that have had the most success in Japan with 9 overall victories, followed by Ferrari with 7, Red Bull with 4, Williams with 3 and Renault and Mercedes both with 2.
This year, Suzuka may not decide the winner of the drivers title just yet, but it could help Nico Rosberg build a nearly insurmountable lead over his teammate Lewis Hamilton, who can’t afford another poor result.
