Toyota has rolled out a new special edition of its Aygo city car, but this one is exclusive to the Italian market.
It’s called the Aygo X-Cite Yellow, and as you might have guessed, it’s dominated by a yellow paintjob. It builds on the existing X-Play, X-Wave, and X-Pure editions, but with something of a neon Bumblebee finish. That includes fluorescent yellow bodywork, offset by a roof, pillars, and front and rear bumper inserts – all in black. The 15-inch alloys are decked out in black too, with yellow hubs.
The theme is reversed inside, where yellow highlights complement the otherwise black interior. It comes packed with the latest Toyota Safety Sense package. Motivation comes courtesy of a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine producing 69 horsepower, available with a manual or automatic transmission.
The yellow-edition Aygo is priced at €14,000, but dealers are accepting orders now across the peninsula for €12,150, representing a discount of €1,850. We doubt this particular special edition will turn out to be a collector’s item decades down the line, but it’s hard to argue with a sticker price that low.
