With so many Nordschleife crashes happening due to bad weather conditions or people simply driving too fast, here’s one that’s just a bad overtaking gone wrong.
Involved is a blue M3 E46 and a green one, with the latter running at a visibly slower speed going into the turn where the collision took place. The lower speed prompts the driver of the blue M3 to attempt an overtaking maneuver at a point where there wasn’t much room for it, so what you see is basically the result of stubbornness.
While at first you might look to pass some of the blame on the driver of the green M3 for not leaving enough room, the reality is that he didn’t force anybody to attempt a risky maneuver.
Safe to say, the impact that follows is a severe one, with the left-front wheel even coming off the blue car as a result of what had happened. Luckily, nobody was seriously injured, though that doesn’t stop the driver of the green car from swinging his helmet at the other guy after they both got out of their vehicles.
Do you agree that most, if not all responsibility falls on the driver attempting to overtake in this scenario, or was the other guy partially at fault as well?
