The luxurious versions of Ford’s Kuga and Edge SUVs are hitting the market across Europe.

Ford’s new Vignale portfolio of models has the ambitious goal of drawing customers away from traditional premium brands and in order to do so, the Kuga and Edge SUVs are offered in exclusive specs and with high-quality materials, including tuxedo-stitched Windsor leather interiors, unique exterior colors and upmarket detailing that include a Vignale-specific hexagonal grille design.

“Our Ford Vignale range speaks directly to the growing trend for upmarket SUVs and represents the very best of Ford with luxurious design, materials and craftsmanship,” said Roelant de Waard, vice president, Marketing, Sales & Service, Ford of Europe. “We see great potential to extend the top end of our Ford product range and offer a special experience that meets the growing expectations of our customers.”

The Ford Kuga Vignale is offered with two petrol and two diesel units, including the 1.5-litre EcoBoost in 148hp (150PS) and 179hp (182PS) versions, and the 2.0-litre TDCi available with 148hp (150PS) and 177hp (180PS). The range-topping petrol version is offered only with a six-speed automatic and AWD while both diesel versions can be had with AWD and a six-speed automatic gearbox as an option.

The bigger Edge Vignale comes with chrome-finished fog lamps, a dark matte finish for the Vignale front grille and 19-inch polished aluminum alloy wheels. As with the Kuga Vignale, customers will be able to choose between unique exterior colors, including a rich metallic brown called Vignale Ametista Scura.

The leather upholstery extends to the central armrest and storage console, and to the dashboard, featuring a woven aluminum applique on the passenger side. Ford installed an Active Noise Control system to make the cabin even more refined and quiet. The system uses three microphones that are strategically placed in the cabin, monitoring engine noise and directing opposing sound waves through the speakers of the audio system.

Customers will be able to get the Edge Vignale with two diesel powertrains; a 177hp 2.0-litre TDCi paired to a six-speed manual and a twin-turbo 207hp 2.0-litre TDCi paired to Ford’s twin-clutch Powershift automatic.

Ford has also launched a dedicated Vignale website that includes an online configurator, allowing potential customers to explore the numerous personalization options and pricing.
