A man in the U.S. is being accused of conning women into buying him a Lamborghini Gallardo, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and other vehicles.
28-year-old Timothy Rossel has been charged with four counts of identity theft and one count of impersonating a federal officer in the case, reports KMOV.
It is reported that Rossel met a number of women in Pennsylvania, Florida and Missouri on dating website ‘Plenty of Fish’.
Local detective and investigators say Rossel convinced these women to buy cars in their name only for him to drive and sell them, pocketing the cash and claiming that they’d been stolen.
While dating a woman from Florida, Rossel had her buy a Lamborghini Gallardo and Corvette Z06 and during his relationship with a Missouri resident, oversaw her buy a Ford Mustang, Can-Am Spyder and a Cadillac Escalade.
According to Detective Sergeant John Biser from Union, Missouri, the scheme was uncovered after one of the victims found multiple credit cards in her name and federal IDs held by Rossel under a different name.
