As Vice President of the United States and somebody who loves to drive, Joe Biden feels he has been kept away from his 1967 Corvette Stingray long enough.
Lucky for him (or perhaps the other way around), Jay Leno dropped by and they took the car for a spin together, burning a little rubber as they brought some purpose back in the life of that 327 Small-Block V8.
In terms of performance, this 300 HP ’67 Vette could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than 7 seconds and the Vice President himself claims that he took it all the way up to 160 mph (257 km/h) back in the day.
We’re not going to straight up call him out on such a claim, but it does seem rather unlikely considering that it would mean this car is faster than the more powerful 427 V8 model.
After a couple “personal” questions a a few jokes exchanged between the two, they’re joined by a 2015 Corvette Stingray, which is good for 460 HP and can get to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.6 seconds.
Humor and political views aside, would you rather own a 67 Stingray or the new 2017 Corvette?
