With the first examples of the S90 currently reaching dealers and the V90 not being available until next year, the XC90 continues to be Volvo’s most popular model in the US market.

September sales were up by 1.6 percent compared to the same month of last year, to 5,615 vehicles. Out of these, 2,465 are units of the XC90, whose deliveries are up by an amazing 108.5 percent over September 2015, followed by the smaller XC60, which was chosen by 1,157 customers.

September was another successful month for Volvo in the US with the fifteenth month of consecutive sales growth. The XC90 continues to be our best seller with another month of strong performance“, said Volvo Car USA President and CEO, Lex Kerssemakers.

While the automaker’s monthly sales are up by just 1.6 percent, the year-to-date numbers point to a 26.2 percent increase and total car deliveries of 58,532, in the United States. The XC90 is, once again, the best-seller, topping 24,229 units, followed by the XC60 and its 13,931, while the S60 completes the podium with 9,648 deliveries, down 23.1 percent.
