MINI may have pulled the covers off the redesigned Countryman, but the range-topping grade is still a few months away from being unveiled.

Set to join the rest of MINI’s not-so-mini crossover family next year, it will adopt the John Cooper Works (JCW) designation and should look very similar to RemcoM’s latest rendering, which shows a modified grille, updated front bumper, and slightly lowered ride height, along with the usual color and wheel upgrades.

Power for the actual model will, unsurprisingly, come courtesy of the BMW group’s 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine used on the new Clubman JCW.

On the latter, it produces 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet (350 Nm) of torque, fed to all four corners through either a six-speed manual gearbox, or an optional eight-speed automatic. Regardless of what transmission buyers pick, the Clubman JCW needs 6 seconds flat to sprint from naught to sixty miles per hour (96 km/h). Keep your right foot down long enough and the needle will eventually point to 147 mph (237 km/h). Expect similar numbers from the Countryman JCW.
