Ariel, known for the super fast bare-bone Atom, is also manufacturing a motorcycle. It’s called the Ace, and there’s a tuned one coming.

To give you an idea what the upcoming Ace R is all about, we need to talk about the standard version – if you can call it that. Like any version of the Atom, the Ace is simply designed to scare the bejesus out of you.

It respects the company’s credo, both stylistically and mechanically (Ariel says the word retro isn’t part of their dictionary), offering an intense experience, like its four-wheel counterpart.

Each Ace is based on an aluminum perimeter frame, milled from solid billets, after 70 hours of machining time, and powered by a 1237cc, 173 hp, V4 Honda powerplant, capable of launching the bike from 0 to 97 km/h (60 mph) in 3.1 seconds, in its quest to reach the 165 mph (265 km/h) top speed.

As if that wasn’t clearly enough, the British company is prepping an R tuned version, with even more extra “blimey”. According to Ariel, the upcoming Ace will feature a modified V4 1200 Honda UK engine with a substantial increase in power over the standard variant.

Moreover, the Ace R will have a unique color scheme, and it will be limited to just 10 units. Only thinking about it gives us the chills.
