BMW are bringing both technical and visual enhancements to their mid-range F 800 R roadster and F 800 GT sports touring bikes for the 2017MY.

Among the upgrades, both models have been adapted to the new EU4 regulations for 2017, while featuring slightly redesigned tailpipes, ride-by-wire systems, Rain & Road riding modes as standard, new dials and new color schemes.

Where the F 800 R comes in Racing Red non-metallic, Blackstorm metallic and BMW Motorsport (Lightwhite non-metallic/Lupine Blue metallic/Racing Red non-metallic), the F 800 GT can be ordered in Gravity Blue metallic matte, Lightwhite non-metallic and Blackstorm metallic.

On the road, both bikes put down 90 HP (66 kW) at 8,000 rpm, courtesy of a 798 cc, 2-cylinder engine. Also, if the two standard riding modes aren’t enough, BMW Motorrad is also offering a “Dynamic mode” available as an ex works option.

The previously mentioned new dials feature improved readability while the display has been extended to now include riding mode information. There’s also a MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light) feature provided for the cockpit, which is in line with the EU4 requirements.

In terms of accessories, buyers can go for a newly designed HP sports silencer, providing either bike with a throaty sound as well as a sporty design thanks to the end piece being made of carbon fiber.
