German tuning fans know what they’re doing this weekend – attending the 2016 Essen Motor Show, which opens its gates on November 26, before closing them on December 4.
Besides the numerous upgrade options available for the new 5-Series, as well as a range of accessories that takes aim at the MINI hatch and convertible, the BMW Group has also pulled the covers off an extended catalogue of part.
Available from next summer on the M3 and M4, the BMW M Performance rear wing is made entirely of carbon and adorned with the M stripes, but if you cannot wait that long, then you might want to check out the adjustable sports suspension, which is aimed at the same two cars. Promising to “further enhance the handling dynamics”, it can lower the ride height between 5 and 20 mm (0.2-7.9 in), “in order to obtain the ideal setting for different road and racetrack conditions”, as the Germans explain.
Proudly sitting at the BMW booth in Essen is the new M240i, which not only has a 340 PS (335 HP) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque 3.0-liter, straight-six turbo engine, but also enjoys a range of BMW M Performance accessories, including 19-inch wheels, and black matte rear diffuser with a new exhaust and carbon tailpipe trims, in addition to the Alcantara and carbon trim inside.
Visitors can also see the BMW M2 Safety Car on display, and can demonstrate their racing talent with the ‘DTM M4 Driving Simulator’, as well.
