Debuting at the ongoing Sao Paulo Motor Show 2016 is a new version of the Fiat Mobi, dubbed the Drive.
The model is fitted with the company’s familiar 1.0-liter three-cylinder Firefly engine albeit with a few updates to provide better fuel economy, lower emissions, less noise and greater performance. All told, it has 77 hp and 78 lb-ft of torque on tap and can run on 100 per cent ethanol.
Another upgrade for the Fiat Mobi Drive compared to the other six Mobi variants is that it has electric steering rather than hydraulic steering. Fiat says that the new electric steering is much lighter than a traditional system and includes a special city function where the effort to move the steering wheel is significantly reduced to aid in parking.
Elsewhere, the model includes an LCD screen and digital gauge cluster as standard. There’s also electric windows up front, a rear window defroster, height adjustable front seat belts, bluetooth connectivity, USB and auxillary inputs, rear parking sensors, fog lights and 14-inch alloy wheels.
Optional extras include a magazine rack in the front seat backrests, a cup holder and glossy back trim.
The yet-to-be-priced model will arrive at Brazilian dealerships later this month.
