The tricky part about picking a winner between three models such as the Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7-Series and Audi A8 is there’s almost never a time when the playing field is completely level.
In other words one, if not two, of them will always trail in terms of on-board tech and sometimes even performance due to their different launch schedules.
Soon enough, the next Audi A8 will lay claim to the crown of the most high-tech luxury limo out there. Until then, the 7-Series can still do quite a few extra things that the current S-Class and A8 can’t.
Of course, as the following review poinst out, it’s not always about being ‘clever’ – in this segment, you need cars that are also refined on the road, comfortable, practical and extremely good looking. And, according to some, the all-new 7-Series isn’t all that exciting to look at.
Moreover, aside from its ultra-high quality cabin and on-board gizmos, the new 7-Series doesn’t necessarily look or feel superior to any of the other two, especially the S-Class which is still the segment champ in terms of overall aesthetics and comfort, at least according to this review.
The Audi A8, on the other hand, is showing its age, though surprisingly it’s the most dynamic to drive and will still spoil you with all the comfort you require when you let someone else do the driving.
