Nissan has signed football megastars Gareth Bale and Sergio Aguero to be their new global brand ambassadors as well as their “Engineers of Excitement”.
In their new roles, Bale and Aguero aim to help Nissan bring football fans closer to the UEFA Champions League action by playing a pivotal role over the course of the season.
The two stars showcased a few of their shooting techniques and other electrifying skills in a presentation film that also features a few shots of the 2017 GT-R – while also sharing their thoughts on the UEFA Champions League in general and their desires about seeing their teams do well in the competition.
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Bale and Aguero to the Nissan family, as our new ambassadors and Engineers of Excitement,” said Jean-Pierre Diernaz, Nissan Europe’s marketing VP. “As part of the UEFA Champions League partnership, we wanted to work with ambassadors that demonstrate and share our same principles of innovation and excitement. Why them? Because like Nissan they are challenging convention, are true innovators of the game and every time they step on that pitch they deliver excitement to fans.”
Both players stated they’re very happy to be working with Nissan, with Bale confessing that after having already won the competition twice with Real Madrid, he now knows what it takes to be a winner among so many other great teams/players.
Manchester City striker Sergio ‘Kun’ Aguero added that the Champions League is an “exciting tournament which features some of the best teams, players and managers in the game. The week-in-week-out drama on and off the pitch makes it a great competition to be part of as a player, and to watch as a fan.”
Since the 2016 Champions League season barely got under way, we’ll hopefully see more Nissan content featuring the two players from now and until June, assuming either one of them makes the Final in Cardiff.
