A driver caused a four-car crash while trying to overtake a series of vehicles in North Carolina recently, before fleeing the scene.
According to the video’s description, the incident occurred just after 3 PM on Friday. The culprit was in the process of (illegally) overtaking yet another car, before sliding back into his lane, causing incoming drivers to slam on the brakes.
The result was a three-car pileup plus an additional vehicle crashing off-road. What’s even worse is that the man in the dark sedan didn’t even stop after what had happened.
It’s quite possible that the cars traveling in the opposite direction were perhaps too close together, though that doesn’t excuse that one driver’s negligent behavior in any way.
The way the entire crash went down is that after the first vehicle slammed on the brakes, it was immediately rear-ended by the trailing car. Then, a third car swerved to miss the crash, ending up on the grass near the road, followed by a fourth car rear-ending the second one.
Hopefully local police will be able to track down the man responsible for this accident using this video.
