Yes, you’ve read that right; after stealing a Tulsa police cruiser, 25-year-old John Martin Pinney decided to live stream his accomplishment on his Facebook account, while being chased by the police.
Pinney posted no less than four videos on Facebook account last Monday after finding an unlocked police car with the keys on the ignition. According to the police report, Pinney drove at high speeds nearing 100mph during the chase, passing through several residential areas.
The high-speed pursuit lasted around 40 minutes, with Tulsa officers briefly losing the vehicle before Skiatook police found it and chased him until the end.
On his videos, Pinney was rumbling on about several topics, including his past experience in prison and his music preferences. He used the officer’s iPad found in the car to stream his actions. The opportunist criminal was eventually caught when he pulled into the driveway of his parents, with officers reporting that he resisted during his arrest.
“I would encourage every criminal out there to Facebook Live their crimes so that we can catch you a lot easier and use that Facebook Live at your trial to get a better conviction,” Tulsa police sergeant Steve Stoltz told on Newson6.
