Nissan has become the latest automaker to offer its new customers a track day experience as a bonus.
The event, held at Virginia International Raceway, gives new Nissan GT-R buyers a full day of complimentary instruction at the circuit aimed at teaching them proper track driving techniques in a package worth $2,000.
In a statement, Nissan North America director of Sports Car Marketing, Eric Ledieu said: “The GT-R is one of the most iconic and impressive sports cars on the market today, but there are very few places to explore the vehicle’s full potential in a safe, controlled and supervised situation. It made sense to link our owners with a track like Virginia International Raceway for a world-class driving experience in a responsible fashion.”
To be eligible, Nissan GT-R buyers must purchase the Japanese sports car between November 14, 2016 and March 31, 2017.
In recent months, owners of the Cadillac CTS-V and ATS-V have been offered a similar driving school, as have those of the Ford Focus RS and new Abarth 124.
