Joining Nissan’s expanded Nismo lineup, which already includes the
Juke and Juke RS, 370Z and GT-R, is the 2017 Sentra compact that is the
brand’s answer to the Hyundai Elantra Sport.

Powering the Sentra NISMO is a 1.6-liter turbocharged, four-cylinder engine, taken from the Juke Nismo, which delivers 188 HP and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) of torque to the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox or a tuned CVT.

Nismo recalibrated suspension, brakes and steering complete the performance upgrades to the Sentra.

Visually, Nissan’s performance arm adorned the high-volume compact with black and red accents, special Nismo logos,18-inch alloy wheels, body-hugging front seats, carbon fiber instrument cluster and model-specific upholstery and trimmings.

“For 2017, we’re bringing new excitement to Sentra with the Sentra NISMO, which brings driving enthusiasts aftermarket tuner-style performance straight from the factory,” said Michael Bunce, vice president, Product Planning, Nissan North America. “With an estimated starting price of under $25,000 when it arrives in January, Sentra NISMO is going to be very popular here in Southern California and around the U.S.”
