In case you were worried Porsche had run of out ideas for promoting their agile 718 Cayman, you may have just stumbled onto one of their most creative solutions.
In order to put the 718 through its paces, Porsche teamed up with YouTube Gamer Ali-A, who’s definitely no stranger to fast cars, at least not after driving a Formula E car earlier this year or getting a ride from Lewis Hamilton in 2015.
In the end, what they came up with is a little cat and mouse game, where a swarm of race drones piloted by people who really know how to use them would try to get really close to the car, detonating some smoke when the proximity sensors lit up.
Behind the wheel of the car was none other than stuntman Mauro Carlo, who once set a world record for the longest car drift in a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG. It’s safe to say this time his objective wasn’t to drift the Cayman over long distances, since this was basically a chase scene, but he did get it sideways plenty of times.
