Ferrari dropped the first official video of their new LaFerrari Aperta, the open-top version of their flagship hypercar.
With a limited production run of just 70 units, the Aperta adds a very welcome layer of interaction to the LaFerrari experience by throwing into the package the benefit of not having a roof.
The hybrid powertrain still uses perhaps the best naturally aspirated V12 in the planet, Ferrari’s 789hp 6.3-litre unit that’s been backed by a 161hp electric motor. The combined 950hp are enough for the LaFerrari Aperta to reach speeds over 217mph (350km/h). The 0-62mph (0-100km/h) sprint takes under 3 seconds, while 0-124mph (0-200km/h) is dealt in a breathtaking 7.1 seconds.
Ferrari has worked extensively to the aero agenda of their new roadster in order to ensure that the Aperta remains as slippery and offers as much downforce as the hardtop LaFerrari.
The company used Sebastian Vettel as the driver of their latest hypercar in a video that clearly focuses more on the advertising side than the informative one, but it’s a nice chance to see this really rare car on the move.
