Late last month, we brought you a report that Skoda was planning a coupe-like version of its new Kodiaq crossover, particularly for the Chinese market. At least one reader was paying attention, because Theo Chin worked up these renderings based on that bit of news.
The rendering artist – whose work should certainly be no stranger to regular readers of this site – rendered this design proposal for a Kodiaq Coupe. He took his inspiration more from the Range Rover Evoque than the BMW X4 and Mercedes GLC Coupe, using the CrossBlue Coupe concept of 2013 as his basis.
The result looks pretty convincing. And while Skoda will surely take its own approach to the individual details, we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see the finished product look largely like the vehicle you see here.
China is one of Skoda’s most critical markets. Of the 569,400 vehicles it delivered in the first half of this year, 145,800 were sold in China – second only to Western Europe, where it moved 242,500 units.
