Most married men know the story all too well. There’s something you want to buy, but you need to convince the missus first. Granted, for most of us, the purchase in question isn’t a multi-million-dollar classic Ferrari, but then whatever it is we’re lobbying for doesn’t sound like one, either.

The subject of the latest video from Petrolicious is a 1953 Ferrari 340 Spider and its owner Michael Stehle. He was looking for something to enter in the Mille Miglia, and came across this car which had been the factory competitor in the same race half a century prior.

It was the perfect ride for the revival rally. But while its history won him over and the sound convinced his wife, it was apparently Vignale‘s minimalist coachwork (in contrast to Pininfarina’s flair) that appealed to his evidently Scandinavian aesthetic sense.
