This Mini went around the Nurburgring in 45 minutes and still managed to broke a record on the track.

By the looks of it, the new achievement will remain undefeated for some time, mainly because the three-door hatchback completed the entire lap on two wheels. According to Bridge to Gantry, the stunt was performed by Chinese stunt driver Han Yue, and it was live streamed on Facebook.

Han reported problems with the car and had to reduce speed due to vibrations, only managing an average of 28 km/h (17.4 mph). Even so, he completed the course without any drama:

“It was the back tire. At the start of the lap, I got a very strong vibration that has never happened before. It only happened over 20 km/h (12.4 mph), but it got worse when I drove faster. So, this lap was a lot slower than I liked, and that makes it much more difficult. My shoulder was hurting by 6 km, with 15 km still to go…”

The other protagonist of the stunt, the Mini, seemed fairly stock, although it was fitted with a roll cage (for safety reasons), a welded differential, and with special, solid rubber front tires, with reinforced sidewalls.

Let’s just hope it didn’t start a trend or a lap-time war between car makers.
