According to some people, the M6 could be the most beautiful 4-door BMW in Gran Coupe form, which means they should be happy that there’s more than just one version out there.
Aside from the regular M6 Gran Coupe, there’s also the Alpina B6, which comes with a same-displacement 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8, except that it pumps out 600 HP and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque.
The regular M6 on the other hand is packing 40 fewer HP and a lot less torque, rated at 500 lb-ft (680 Nm) – though if you go for the Competition Package, you get pretty much the same power output as you do in the Alpina version.
Still, with the B6 you get more torque, an 8-speed automatic (instead of 7-speed twin-clutch) and a slightly more imposing price tag, though not by much.
Thankfully, the guys over at Motor Trend went about comparing the M6 GC and the B6 GC as thoroughly as possible and that works out great for those of us who really wanted to know what the differences are between these two cars.
