Footage has surfaced of the moment a driver accidentally reversed his car into a river in Yangzhoung City of China’s Jiangsu Province.
Captured by a CCTV camera, the driver in question, surnamed Zhang, can be seen interacting with a friend after getting out of his car. However, he didn’t stop the car properly after potentially not applying the parking brake.
The moment he sees the car rolling backwards, he rushes inside but rather than hitting the brake pedal, he inadvertently hits the accelerator. In the process, he smashes into the rider of a scooter, knocking him over. Moments later, the car can be seen splashing into the river.
According to local news outlet Asia One, Zhang managed to escape the car and the scooter rider was uninjured.
