Elon Musk isn’t a man known for holding back. If he sees something wrong with the world, you can bet he’s thinking up a way to solve it. Case in point, the entrepreneur’s latest proposed venture.
Over the weekend, Musk expressed his anger at traffic on his Twitter account saying ‘Traffic is driving me nuts. Am going to build a tunnel boring machine and just start digging…’
Initially, the tweet sent out at 12:05 am seemed to be one of the crazy ideas you have late at night and was dismissed by many. However, an hour later, he said that the company ‘shall be called “The Boring Company” and that it’s catch phrase could be ‘Boring, it’s what we do’.
Then, a couple of hours later at 3:17 am, he tweeted “I am actually going to do this.” He also updated his Twitter description so it now reads ‘Tesla, SpaceX, Tunnels (yes, tunnels) & OpenAI’.
Only Musk himself knows if this is a serious business move or if he’s just having a bit of fun and seeing how much attention he can stir up. If he is serious, building tunnels under cities certainly won’t come cheap.
