The FIA has officially ratified the calendar for the 2017 Formula One season after a meeting of the World Motor Sport Council in Vienna.

Compared to the provisional calendar, the finalized one has a few changes. Most notably, the German Grand Prix has been axed, as per recent reports. This is despite the fact that Mercedes F1 team boss Toto Wolff suggested the German company would be willing to provide financial assistant to the event’s organizers.

Unlike the provisional calendar, there are no longer questions surrounding the Canadian GP and Brazilian GP with both set to go ahead. Other changes include the European Grand Prix held in Baku being moved back by a week to June 25, therefore avoiding a class with the Le Mans 24 Hours the week earlier. Additionally, the Austrian Grand Prix and British Grand Prix have both been pushed back a week.
