Despite how impressive and popular the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 range has proven to be, there were always questions about how long it would remain in production for. Well as it turns out, new examples will continue to leave the factory for quite some time.
The Mustang6g forums have received confirmation that the GT350 will survive through the 2018 model year and that it will go largely unchanged albeit for a number of new color options including Kona Blue, Lead Foot Gray and Orange Fury.
Information about the 2018 GT350 emerged after Ford dealerships across the United States were notified that the program enrolment for the model had opened and was required for any dealers to receive an allocation.
While the new model year GT350 won’t have any significant changes, it will still be an absolute savage, thanks primarily to the naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V8 engine and the flat-plane crank. Horsepower will remain at 526 ponies and power will still be sent to the rear wheels.
Since its launch, the model has enjoyed roaring success without any true competitors. However, Chevrolet is hard at work developing a new-age Camaro Z/28 set to take the fight directly to Shelby’s creation.
